Something weird is happening at IBKR. My commodities rights are being revoked. An account review dialog popped up on my IBKR acc, asking me to my trading data. My income, wealth etc. hasn't really changed appreciably during the previous year.
But IBKR detected an 'inconsistency' and confirm popped up the following dialog:
By submitting these changes, you will no longer qualify to trade the following products.
Commodities*, Futures, Options*
They're forcing me to sell my investments. I'm not super rich, but it's not like it's that little money.
There's literally zero explanation for this. Wtf are they doing?? When did commodities get gated behind some sort of weird high opaque requriements? Are they trying to push out retail investors from oil & gas for some reason?
How do I appeal this?
Edit: I have contacted support, and it seems they responded. However I have been locked out of my account. Pending acceptance of these puzzling terms and I cant even view what they wrote.
